Jako správný intelektuál a básník se snaží publikovat svoji tvorbu a myšlenky. Získává a ztrácí přátele. Snaží se uspořádat citový chaoz po rozchodu rodičů. A taktéž se musí vypořádat se ztrátou zaměstnání otce samoživitele a propadu téměř až na sociální dno.
Přes tyto témata je kniha velice zábavná, humorná a čtivá. doporučuji každému kdo se rád směje. Vzhledem ke členění je vhodná i pro méně zdatné čtenáře.

Sobota, 24. ledna
Dnešek byl nejstrašnější den v mém životě. Matka si bude vydělávat tím svým mizerným psaním na stroji v pojišťovně! Začíná v pondělí! Pan Lucas pracuje ve stejném podniku. Každý den jí tam bude vozit. A otec má špatnou náladu - myslí si, že blíží jeho konec. Ale ze všeho nejhorší je, že Bert Baxter není příjemný starý důchodce! Pije, kouří a má vlčáka, který se jmenuje Šavle. Když jsem stříhal ten obrovský živý plot, Šavle byl zavřený v kuchyni, ale ani na chvíli nepřestal vrčet. Jenže se stalo něco ještě horšího! Pandora začala chodit s Nigelem!!! Myslím, že se z toho šoku nikdy nevzpamatuju.
Neděle, 25.ledna (třetí po třech králích)
10.00: Ze všech starostí jsem nemocný a příliš slabý abych toho moc napsal. Nikdo si nevšiml, že jsem vůbec nesnídal.
14.00: V poledne jsem si vzal dva dětské aspiríny a trochu jsem se sebral. Možná že až budu slavný a bude objeven můj deník, lidé pochopí, jaká to jsou muka, když je človeku 13 a 3/4 a je nepochopený intelektuál.
18.00: Pandoro! Moje ztracená lásko! Teď nikdy nepohladím tvoje nedové vlasy! (Přestože můj modrý fix je ti stále k dispozici.)
20.00: Pandoro! Pandoro! Pandoro!
22.00: Proč? Proč? Proč?
Půlnoc: Snědl jsem sendvič s krabí pomazánkou a mandarínku (kvůli pleti). Je mi trochu líp. Doufám, že Nigel spadne z kola a přejede ho náklaďák. Už s ním nikdy nepromluvím. Věděl, že Pandoru miluju! Kdybych dostal k vánocům kolo místo toho zatraceného stereo budíku, nic z toho všeho by se nestalo.
